This is the second-largest palace in Mysore. It’s located near the Chamundi Hills, east of the megacity of Mysore within the Indian state of Karnataka. The palace was built in 1921 by the order of His Highness Krishna Raja Wodeyar IV, Maharaja of Mysore, for the exclusive residence of the Governor of India. Erected on a raised ground, the palace was fashioned on the lines of the St Paul’s Cathedral in London and is one of the imposing structures of the Mysore megacity.
The elegant Laith Mahal Mysore Palace is painted pure white. It had been converted into a heritage hostel in 1974. It absolutely was run as a component of the Ashok Group of the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) under the government of India until 2018 when it had been transferred to a unit of the government of Karnataka. Still, a veneer of the first royal air of the palace is maintained.
