seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar to secure a thrilling last-ball win against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match on Thursday. Bhuvneshwar used his experience to defend 13 runs in the final against the Royals, nailing yorkers to perfection. With RR needing 2 runs from the final ball to win the match, Bhuvi got Rovman Powell out LBW, hence helping SRH secure a 1-run win. After the game, Sunrisers skipper Pat Cummins shared clicked a picture with Bhuvi in the dressing room and shared it on social media.

Cummins admitted being in awe of Bhuvneshwar’s performance. In the post shared on Instagram, the Australia ODI and T20I captain wrote: “Love playing alongside this bloke! Brilliant fight back with bat and ball to chalk up a brilliant win”.

The Sunrisers had suffered defeats in their last two matches but fought back to clinch a nervy clash against the Royals this time. Travis Head (58 off 44), Nitish Reddy (76 off 42) and Heinrich Klaasen (42 off 19) were the pick of the batters for SRH while Bhuvneshwar (3), Cummins (2) and T Natarajan (2) bagged the most wickets.

After the match, Cummins admitted that he didn’t think his side would win until the last ball was bowled.

“Amazing game. Didn’t think we had that one until literally the last ball. It is T20 cricket, you get used to the batters getting over the line. When you get to the last over, you do feel anything can happen. Bhuvneshwar nailed six yorkers. On the last ball, it did not really cross my mind that we could get a wicket, was thinking Super Over,” said Cummins.

“He (Nitish) is fantastic. He summed up the conditions really well – took the first ten balls to get himself in and then basically hit it wherever he wanted. He is amazing, is great in the field and gives a couple of handy overs as well,” said the SRH captain, hailing Reddy.
