Samarveer Creations LLP’s Razakar is an epic historical film set against the backdrop of post-independence India in 1947. While the rest of the country celebrates newfound freedom from British rule, Hyderabad, the largest princely state, remains an independent kingdom under the rule of the Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali… Khan. Despite India’s independence, the Nizam refuses to sign the accession agreement and instead opts for a one-year standstill agreement with the Union of India. During this tumultuous period, a paramilitary army force known as the Razakars, led by Qasim Razvi and affiliated with the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, emerges. Together, Razvi and the Nizam instill fear among Hindus through acts of terror and atrocities. The film delves into the repercussions of these events, exploring the struggle for power and the impact of religious tensions on the lives of ordinary people. As the Razakars unleash terror, the narrative unfolds to reveal the bravery and resilience of those who fight against oppression, forming the heart of the story.
