Kangana Ranaut SLAPPED at Chandigarh airport by CISF personnel over anti-farmer remarks: Reports

According to reports in NDTV and India Today, the altercation reportedly began when Ranaut refused to comply with security protocols, including placing her phone in the designated tray during the security check. Matters escalated when Ranaut purportedly pushed the security personnel, leading to the unprecedented action of being slapped by the CISF constable.

Ranaut found herself at the centre of a confrontation with a paramilitary constable, who allegedly slapped her and cited “disrespecting farmers” as the motive behind her actions. The incident, captured on mobile footage, captures Ranaut being escorted by a ring of security officers towards the security check-in, where she is seen engaging in a discussion with CISF officers.

The constable’s reference to the ongoing farmers’ protests lasted for over 15 months and culminated in the scrapping of contentious farm laws. The protests, spearheaded primarily by farmers from Punjab, Haryana, and other states, demanded a legal guarantee of minimum support prices (MSP) and raised concerns about the corporatization of agriculture.

In response to the incident, the CISF commandant has initiated an investigation into the matter. Additionally, Ranaut’s aides have informed local authorities, further emphasizing the gravity of the situation and the need for a thorough inquiry.

This incident comes on the heels of Ranaut’s resounding electoral triumph in Mandi, where she secured a significant victory margin over her Congress rival Vikramaditya Singh. Garnering 5,37,022 votes, Ranaut’s political debut was marked by an expression of gratitude to the people of Mandi and a reaffirmation of her allegiance to Prime Minister Modi and the BJP.
