Customer engagement software vendor Freshworks has appointed Andrew Phillips as its new country manager and VP of sales for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).

In his new role, Phillips will oversee regional sales strategy with a focus on expanding market share, fostering customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities, Freshworks said.

He will work closely with the executive team to implement sales strategies and ensure the delivery of exceptional value to customers.

Phillips brings over three decades of experience in sales and has spent over two decades in the technology sector.

He previously held leadership positions at VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and UiPath.

“It’s rare to find technology that is quick to implement, easy on the pocket but still is on the cutting edge of innovation. Freshworks falls into this rare category of business software products and is slated to win big,” Phillips said.

“Over my career, I have had the opportunity to work for companies like VMware, AWS, and UiPath that have been able to deliver on these goals by improving the pace at which customers can move, introducing superior technology, and drastically reducing operational costs.”

“Freshworks has integrated AI into its products for over six years! With generative AI features in the form of Freddy CoPilot and Self Service, enhancing the experience for both employees and customers, it becomes the default choice for businesses looking to stay ahead and tap into the GenAI wave.”

Freshworks said Phillips has a proven track record of driving sales performance and revenue growth and has spent a good part of his career working with public sector customers in ANZ.

Phillips’ appointment comes after Freshworks hired Neels du Plooy to lead ANZ channels and alliances in April 2024.

“We are thrilled to welcome Andrew Phillips to our team,” said Abe Smith, chief of global field operations at Freshworks.

“His extensive experience and impressive accomplishments in the industry make him the perfect fit to lead our regional sales efforts. We are confident that he will play a pivotal role in driving our company’s growth and success in ANZ.”
