Dell Technologies and Nutanix have announced an expansion of their 14-year partnership, unveiling two innovative solutions aimed at simplifying hybrid cloud environments and offering greater flexibility to organisations grappling with increasing IT complexity.

The first of these offerings is Dell XC Plus, a turnkey, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) appliance that integrates the Nutanix Cloud Platform software stack with Dell PowerEdge servers.

This solution is designed to streamline on-premises and hybrid cloud environments, providing customers with more choice and control to meet evolving IT requirements.

“Dell XC Plus combines user-friendly software from Nutanix and robust PowerEdge servers from Dell, enabling seamless management and a unified hybrid cloud framework,” Travis Vigil, vice president of Dell’s infrastructure group, and Thomas Cornely of Nutanix wrote.

The solution aims to simplify hybrid cloud operations, streamline IT processes through automation, and optimise performance using AI and machine learning.

In a preview of future developments, the companies also announced plans for Dell PowerFlex to become the first external storage solution supported and integrated with the Nutanix Cloud Platform.

The integration allows customers to manage compute and storage independently, choose their preferred hypervisor, and achieve high-performance scalability while maintaining access to Nutanix’s suite of software features.

These new solutions are designed to address key challenges in managing applications and workloads efficiently, while also providing predictability and stability in infrastructure costs.

“This extended collaboration reflects our shared commitment to innovation,” Vigil and Cornely said.

“We’re leveraging decades of combined expertise to deliver these new offerings, and this is just the beginning,” they added.

The Dell XC Plus solution is available now, while the PowerFlex integration with Nutanix Cloud Platform is currently in development, with early access expected later this year.

As organisations continue to navigate the complexities of hybrid cloud environments, these new solutions promise to offer the simplicity, robustness, and flexibility needed to drive digital transformation.
