Datacom which bills itself as Australasia’s largest homegrown tech company has officially opened a new office in Canberra, with the Minister for Industry and Science officiating and speaking at the ceremony.

He was joined by Datacom’s managing director for Australia, Mike Fuller.

The new office is located in the Civic Quarter, central Canberra, and has 1000 m2 floor space. It occupies the 12th floor, with a Datacom spokesperson saying it provides a flexible working base for the 202 staff members it currently has in the region.

“The investment in the office reflects the confidence that there is business in the tech sector to win in the capital,” the spokesperson said.

All in all Datacom has 2588 staff in Australia, with two offices in Adelaide, and others in Brisbande, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, on top of Canberra.

The technology company is a finalist in 2024 CRN Impact Awards, in the Networking Evolution partner category.

It was nominated for its work on a software defined wide area network (SD-WAN) rollout for the South Australian Courts Administration Authority, handling the design, deployment and configuration of the project, across 17 regional and metropolitan sites in the state.
